Manor Drive currently suspended
The recent extension of Citi 5 beyond Welland to Manor Drive has been suspended for the time being, and buses are once again terminating at Welland. This is apparently due to the lack of proper road markings along Manor Drive.

Major Stagecoach changes from October 30th
Stagecoach has made significant timetable and route changes to most services from Sunday October 30th. Headline changes are that Manor Drive finally gets a service, Hampton route 6 is increased to every 20 minutes, whilst Citi 1 is increased to every 10 minutes at peak times and on Saturdays. Citi 4 has earlier journeys from Parnwell. Routes 23/24 and 29 are withdrawn by Stagecoach, but change to different operators. Some rural services are cut back in frequency, with 904 only running to Huntingdon (no evening service), and 33 loses its Sunday service. 36 is extended beyond Thorney to March. Further details are shown below, and the new pdf timetables are linked from the Routes page. All relevant Destination pages have updated versions.
Citi 1 Orton - Queensgate - Werrington: on Mondays to Fridays the frequency at peak times is increased to every 10 minutes, whilst journeys from Werrington start 15 minutes earlier at 0545. The off-peak timetable (1003-1503 from Orton Wistow, 1000-1500 from Werrington) remains at every 15 minutes in identical timings to the previous timetable. The hourly evening timings are unchanged. On Saturdays the early-morning timetable is unchanged but between 0948 and 1818 from Orton (0930 to 1710 from Werrington) the Saturday frequency increases to every 10 minutes (previously every 15); the evening timetable is unchanged. Sunday timings are unchanged (every 20 minutes for much of the day).
Citi 2 Paston - Queensgate - Bretton: no change to timetable (every 20 mins; every 30 mins Sundays).
Citi 3 Bretton - Queensgate - Stanground: no change to timetable (every 20 mins; every 30 mins Sundays).
Citi 4 Parnwell - Queensgate - Hospital: the timetable is unchanged (every 30 mins) except that on Mondays to Saturdays the service from Parnwell starts one hour earlier with new journeys at 0600 and 0630.
Citi 5 Manor Drive/Dogsthorpe - Queensgate - Amazon/Yaxley: journeys from Welland now start back from the new development at Manor Drive 10 minutes earlier (arriving back at Manor Drive 10 minutes after Welland), except in the evenings and on Sundays, giving Manor Drive its first bus service, going from nothing to every 30 minutes. By giving the buses a few minutes layover at Manor Drive the timetable planners have manged to avoid changing the rest of the route 5 timetable, which is the same as before. Manor Drive is located on the north side of Paston Parkway, between Gunthorpe Road and Newborough Road (Baker Perkins has been located there for some time), and the area has now been given the name Roman Fields. Buses traverse Manor Drive in the easterly direction, and at present there is only one bus stop. Note that as of the first day of operation the electronic indicators at Queensgate Bus Station were incorrectly showing Manor Park rather than Manor Drive.
Citi 6 Queensgate - Hampton: the half-hourly frequency will be restored to every 20 minutes, as it was prior to October 2021. On Saturdays the enhanced 20 minute frequency starts with the 0855 journey from Queensgate (0915 from Hampton College). The evening and Sunday timings (hourly) are unchanged.
Services 23 and 24 Peterborough - Lynch Wood: these peak hour services are withdrawn by Stagecoach but replaced by an all-day Monday to Friday service operated by Vectare. Route 24 is renumbered 23A; see the Routes page for the new 23/23A timetable. In this crazy world of bus route tendering (whereby the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority has invited operators to bid for services withdrawn by Stagecoach) the new route 23/23A is operated by Vectare's Loughborough depot!
Service 29 Serpentine Green - Orton Southgate - Lynch Wood - Orton Waterville - City Hospital: this experimental 'orbital' service introduced in March 2021 has sadly received little publicity in the past (for example no timetables on bus stops, even at termini) and is withdrawn by Stagecoach, but a replacement service is now operated by Dews Coaches. The timetable is the same except that the journeys at 1200 from the Hospital and 1230 from Serpentine Green are withdrawn, whilst there are later journeys at 1500 from the Hospital and 1530 from Serpentine Green.
Service 31 Peterborough - Whittlesey - Ramsey: has a new timetable with departures from Peterborough (Mon-Sat) every two hours 0625 to 1825 and from Ramsey every two hours 0729 to 1729. All journeys run the same way round the loop i.e. via Ramsey Mereside and Ramsey Forty Foot, returning from Ramsey via Bury, Upwood and Ramsey St Mary's. This means that a return journey from the local villages to Ramsey and back is no longer possible, but note that the Ramsey and District Community Bus Association runs a service on Fridays - see the link at the bottom of the Routes page.
Service 33 Peterborough - Whittlesey - March: departures from Peterborough (Mon-Sat) are every two hours 0725 to 1725 and from March every two hours 0818 to 1818. In March the bus proceeds directly along Wisbech Road without deviating into any of the estates, terminating in Broad Street (at the stop shown in timetables as Station Road, confusingly). As before, buses return from outside the old Barclays Bank on the other side of Broad Street, adjacent to the War Memorial (shown in the timetable as Grays Lane, again rather unhelpfully). The single journey from and to Chatteris is withdrawn. Victory Avenue in Whittlesey is served every two hours, but the additional journeys between there and Peterborough are withdrawn meaning that Whittlesey now only has an hourly frequency, down from two buses per hour. Whittlesey and March also lose their Sunday service altogether.
Note that Peterborough to March is now also served on Mondays to Saturdays by route 36 via Thorney (see below), which also takes the direct route between March Tesco and March town centre. Some of the changes are consequent upon Stagecoach closing their depot at March. The March estates are now served by a new March town service also numbered 33, operated by FACT.
Service 36 Peterborough - Eye - Thorney - March: previously running hourly between Peterborough and Thorney, this route now runs two-hourly but is extended to March. Departures from Queensgate are two-hourly 0710 to 1710, and from March two-hourly 0640 to 1440, also at 1655, 1855. Routes 36 and 37 are co-ordinated to provide an hourly service between Peterborough and Eye, whilst Thorney is also served hourly by First's Excel route. The single journey from and to Holbeach Drove is withdrawn, with the closure of Stagecoach's small outstation there at Fowler's depot. Note that at March, journeys arriving on route 33 return to Peterborough on route 36 and vice versa.
Service 37 Peterborough - Crowland - Spalding: is another route that has halved in frequency, from hourly to two-hourly. On Mondays to Saturdays there is an early journey from Queensgate at 0550 (replacing a journey starting at Crowland) and further journeys are two-hourly 0810 to 1810. Journeys from Spalding are 0707 and two-hourly 0937 to 1937. In a change to the original proposal, the Sunday service of four journeys each way is retained in the same timings as before.
Local routes 60 to 63 are unchanged.
Service 904 Peterborough - Sawtry - Huntingdon: previously running hourly to St Ives via Huntingdon, this route is curtailed at Huntingdon bus station, and no longer deviates via Hinchingbrooke Hospital. Connections are available at Huntingdon bus station to St Ives (and Cambridge) on Busway route B, also to Cambridge on Whippet service X3. The frequency is reduced to every 90 minutes, leaving Queensgate between 0725 and 1755, and Huntingdon between 0615 and 1645. The last journey back from Huntingdon will therefore be more than three hours earlier than before (putting paid to a full day out in Cambridge). Note that this route will now be wholely operated by Stagecoach's Fenstanton depot, with no involvement by Peterborough depot.
Service X4 Peterborough - Oundle - Corby - Kettering - Northampton: on Mondays to Fridays the 1252 and 1352 departures from Peterborough leave 20 minutes earlier. On Saturdays departures from Peterborough between 1037 and 1442 are retimed up to 10 minutes earlier. Towards Peterborough the timings are generally unchanged except that buses leave Northampton a few minutes earlier, and an evening journey, previously arriving at 1952 (Mons to Fris), now runs 15 minutes later throughout.

Stagecoach X4 departure bay
When Queensgate Bus Station reopened fully in May, route X4 (operated by Stagecoach Midlands rather than the local Stagecoach East) did not return to its former Bay 15 but continued to run from Bay 9. There is talk of it finally reverting to Bay 15, and indeed the Stagecoach online journey planner now shows Bay 15, as do the electronic displays at the bus station. However, the recently reissued drivers' duty sheets still show bay 9, as does the printed timetable, and as at early September buses were leaving from bay 9. All I can say is, keep an eye out for the bus coming in and watch where it goes!
UPDATE: the journey planner has reverted to Bay 9 and indications are that it will remain at Bay 9.

Vectare 47 renumbered R4
From August 30th, Vectare route 47 consisting of one morning journey (Mondays to Fridays) Melton Mowbray - Oakham - Uppingham - Wansford - Peterborough - Kings School, returning at 1555, has been renumbered R4. Between Melton and Uppingham the route is numbered R4A but the bus runs through without a change being required. There are some changes to timings, and the bus no longer serves Belton or Barrowden. The Queensgate departure bay is now shown as Bay 15. The renumbering is in line with other changes which have taken place to routes in Rutland.

Delaine 301/302 from August 1st
From Monday August 1st, Delaine service 301/2 Stamford - Deepings - Spalding has a revised timetable and route. There is a revised route within Stamford town centre and all Spalding journeys are extended to and from Springfields, no longer calling at Spalding Bus Station.

Villager Service VL8
For the record, Villager Minibus service VL8 has been withdrawn and possibly has not run since the start of the pandemic. This serice ran on the second Friday of each month from Clapham via Sharnbrook to Peterborough.

Peterborough to Skegness X12
Stagecoach are once again running the summer holiday X12 Peterborough to Skegness on Saturdays and Sundays July 23rd to August 28th and also on Bank Holiday Monday August 29th. Timings are the same as last year, leaving Queensgate Bus Station (Bay 9/10) at 0945, calling at Market Deeping Market Place (1005) and Spalding Bus Station (1035). Arrival at Skegness is at 1155, and the bus returns from Skegness at 1730 for the two-hour trip back to Peterborough. The full timetable is linked from the Routes page.
On July 30th and August 6th operation of the X12 is subcontracted to Fowlers due to Stagecoach having many vehicles and drivers operating special services at the Commonwealth Games.
The adult return fare is £14, while under 19s, students with ID, and concessionary pass holders pay £9. A Group ticket is available for £35, valid for four people including up to two adults.
This year there is a special offer for concessionary pass holders - collect 15 Stagecoach bus tickets that have been issued with your pass and travel on the X12 for only £3 between August 13th and 29th. Full details are here.

Platinum Jubilee Bank Holidays
On Thursday June 2nd and Friday June 3rd Stagecoach East, Delaine and Excel will be running a Sunday service, as well as on Sunday June 5th of course. Normal Saturday services will be in operation on Saturday June 4th.
An exception is Stagecoach Midlands who run service X4 Peterborough - Oundle - Corby - Kettering - Northampton: this will run to a Saturday timetable on Thursday June 2nd and Friday June 3rd.

Early May Bank Holiday
On Monday May 2nd (the Early May Bank Holiday) all operators will be running a Sunday service.

Queensgate Bus Station to fully reopen May 3rd
In March 2020 half of Queensgate bus station closed temporarily due to work being carried out on the shopping centre. From Tuesday May 3rd the bus station will fully reopen with most routes reverting to their previous bays, and of course the temporary Acland Street bus station will close.
Citi 1 to Werrington therefore reverts to Bay 14, Citi 2 to Paston and Gunthorpe reverts to Bay 13, Citi 4 to Netherton and City Hospital reverts to Bay 1A, Citi 4 to Newark and Parnwell reverts to Bay 16, Citi 5 to Dogsthorpe or Welland reverts to Bay 12, and Citi 6 to Hampton reverts to Bay 8.
Other changes are as follows: Route 23/24 Bay 15; routes 31 and 33 Bay 6; routes 36 and 37 Bay 16; routes 60 to 63 Bay 11; route 904 Bay 8.
It appears that X4 (operated by Stagecoach Midlands) is staying on Bay 9 and has not reverted to Bay 15. Other routes not shown will leave from the same bays as now.
A list of the bays in bay number order can be found on the new Bus Station page and there is also a Bus Station Plan.
Apart from the above changes to bays, timetables are unaltered. However, there are two very minor changes which apply only on school holidays: on route 24 the 0755 from Queensgate arrives Lynch Wood 10 minutes earlier than on schooldays, and on route 37 the 0700 from Spalding runs earlier between Peterborough One Retail Park and Queensgate, scheduled to arrive at 0811, which is 12 minutes earlier than on schooldays.

Easter Holiday Arrangements 2022
Good Friday April 15th - Stagecoach and Excel are running a Sunday service, except for route X4 (operated by Stagecoach Midlands) which has a Saturday service. Delaine 101 runs from Bourne at 0730, 0900 then every 30 minutes until 1630; from Peterborough at 0900, 1000 then every 30 minutes until 1730 (no service on 102). Delaine 201 has a Saturday timetable starting with the 0810 from Bourne and 1000 from Peterborough.
Easter Saturday April 16th - Normal Saturday services.
Easter Sunday April 17th - Sunday service on Stagecoach and Excel. No service on Delaine.
Easter Monday April 18th - All operators are running Sunday timetables.

Stagecoach 57 Spalding to Skegness from April 2nd, 2022
Although strictly outside the remit of this website, I do include a link to Stagecoach service 57 Boston to Skegness. Until now it has been possible to leave Skegness at 1730 with a 10 minute connection at Spalding onto the last bus for Peterborough. Sadly, from Saturday April 2nd the last bus from Skegness to Spalding will now be more than two hours earlier at 1515 (1525 on Saturdays and school holidays), arriving Spalding at 1755, with no connection for Peterborough. The only suitable connection would now be to leave Skegness at 1400 with a 30 minute connection at Spalding. In fairness to Stagecoach, route 57 sees very few passengers between Spalding and Boston. Of course, there is a through bus on route X12 at weekends in July and August.

Stagecoach 2 and 37 changed from January 30th, 2022
It has been brought to my attention that Stagecoach routes 2 and 37 changed from January 30th as follows:
On Mondays to Saturdays evening journeys on Citi 2 from Queensgate to Gunthorpe and Paston have been retimed three minutes earlier leaving hourly 1905 to 2305 instead of 1908 to 2308. Journeys to City Hospital leaving Queensgate 0722-0842 and 1615-1735 on Mondays to Fridays do not serve the hospital main entrance but call at Stop 4 in line with other routes.
On route 37, the 0710 from Spalding to Peterborough (Mons to Fris) now leaves at 0700 and runs up to 10 minutes earlier throughout the journey. The 1945 from Spalding and 2030 from Peterborough no longer call at Peterborough One Retail Park (but curiously are still shown as calling on Saturdays).
The timetable for route 33 has also been reissued, but does not affect Peterborough. The only change is that the 1940 Chatteris to March journey on Saturdays is retimed to 1900.

Stagecoach Fares and Tickets from January 4th, 2022
Stagecoach are introducing some new ticket options from January 4th, including Youth tickets, also Flexi tickets which are bundles of Day Riders for those not travelling every day. Most passengers will be paying the same or less than before. Details can be found at Stagecoach East's Guide to Tickets. The Fares page has now been updated (February 11th).

Minor changes to Delaine 101/102 from January 4th, 2022
From the beginning of January (actually January 4th because of the bank holiday on January 3rd) there will be some Monday to Friday peak-hour changes to Delaine 101/102. The 0730 Peterborough to Bourne will become a 101 journey (rather than 102 via Deeping St James) and will run on Mondays to Fridays terminating at Bourne bus station (rather than Morton). The 0745 from Peterborough will run only on schooldays, terminating at Bourne Grammar school and not calling at Glinton or Northborough. The first bus from Peterborough to Morton will be the 0900.
Deeping St James passengers benefit from an additional morning peak journey on route 102 as far as Market Deeping Market Place where they can change for the 0750 to Peterborough from round the corner in Church Street. The new journey is actually the existing 0725 route 302 journey Bourne - Market Deeping - Spalding but leaving Bourne 10 minutes earlier and diverted via Deeping St James, running as route 102 between Towngate and Market Place.
