Extra journeys on Kimes 9 Peterborough - Oakham
Kimes (now part of Centrebus) will be introducing a revised timetable from September 2nd. The only change is the plugging of the two-hour gap between Stamford and Oakham on Mondays to Fridays, plus the two gaps on Saturdays throughout the route, giving an hourly service throughout the day. In other words, on Mondays to Fridays the 1340 from Peterborough is extended beyond Stamford to Oakham, and the 1535 Stamford - Peterborough starts back from Oakham at 1340, whilst on Saturdays there are extra journeys from Peterborough at 0940 and 1340 and from Oakham at 1105 and 1505.

Revised service B to Cambridge
Only two weeks after its introduction, Stagecoach service B to Huntingdon and Cambridge (via the Cambridgeshire Busway) has a revised timetable from August 5th, with around 10 minutes added to the overall journey time. Departures from Peterborough are 5 minutes later than before. Thank you to the two correspondents who emailed to point out this change.

Summer weekend Skegness service
Stagecoach is once again running the popular service X12 to Skegness this summer, on Saturdays and Sundays from July 21st to August 27th. Departure from Peterborough (Bay 16) is at 0945, arriving Boston at 1105 and Skegness at 1140. The bus will also pick up at Market Deeping Market Place (1005) and Spalding Bus Station (1035). The return journey will leave Skegness at 1730 and Boston at 1800, arriving back in Peterborough at 1910.
Not sure if the fare is the same as last year, which was £10 return, children £7, family fare (up to 4 people, no more than 2 adults) £22. Pay the driver on the day. Please note that senior citizens are unable to use their free passes on this service.

Peterborough - Huntingdon - Cambridge from July 23rd
From Monday July 23rd there will be an hourly through service from Peterborough to Cambridge via Huntingdon and the Busway. This will be an extension of the existing Busway route B. The new route will serve Sawtry but not Stilton or Alconbury and will therefore be considerably quicker between Peterborough and Huntingdon (48 minutes) than old route 46, which previously took 70 minutes. Peterborough to Cambridge will take 1 hour 52 minutes.
Route 46 will be cut back to run hourly between Peterborough and Stilton, with two journeys extended at school times to and from Sawtry.
All pages have been updated with the new timings.

Route 31 Peterborough to Ramsey will have a completely new timetable. The off-peak service will be reduced to two-hourly and all journeys will run on a clockwise loop serving Ramsey Mereside on the way to Ramsey, then returning to Peterborough via Bury and Ramsey St Mary's.
Route 33 Peterborough to March will also be revised, with an improved off-peak service. Routes 31 and 33 combined will provide a bus between Peterborough and Whittlesey every 30 minutes. Oakdale Avenue in Peterborough will no longer be served.

Fare changes from April 1st
April 1st will see a general fares revision on all Stagecoach services. For local journeys around Peterborough the Dayrider will increase from £3.50 to £3.70, whilst the Megarider goes up from £12.00 to £12.50. For journeys further afield the Cambridgeshire Dayrider Plus rises from £5.40 to £5.70 (the Family version goes up 50p to £6.50) whilst the weekly version, the Cambridgeshire Megarider Plus, will go up £1 to £22.50.
The Dayrider Gold sees a hefty increase and the range will be as follows: East Adult Dayrider Gold £12.00, East Child/Concession Dayrider Gold £9.20, East Family Dayrider Gold £23.00, East 1 week Megarider Gold £32.00. I believe the day ticket was previously £7.20 if purchased from a Peterborough based bus (but £10.30 if purchased on a Stagecoach Northamptonshire bus, for example the X4 or 24). The new ticket may also be more restricted geographically but this is unconfirmed.
Kimes, who became part of Centrebus last summer but remained as a separate entity, will be issuing and accepting Centrebus day tickets from April 1st, giving some interesting possibilities for days out.

Judd's 701 to Coates retimed
Just discovered that Judd's changed their 701 timetable from February 27th. Most journeys have been adjusted to leave Peterborough at half past the hour, including the 1745 which now leaves at 1730. The 1515 to Coates is withdrawn, replaced by a 1600 to Whittlesey Market Place. The 1610 from Coates is also withdrawn.

Rail Fares to London
I've finally made time to update the list of rail fares from Peterborough to London. One change which I have just discovered, but which happened sometime last year, is a small improvement to the evening peak restriction for First Capital Connect off-peak tickets. Rather than 1630 it has been eased to 1645 for Peterborough travellers, meaning they can catch the 1640 from Kings Cross with an off-peak return ticket from Peterborough (this is one of FCC's faster services taking just 1 hour and 2 minutes).

Stagecoach changes from January 15th
Stagecoach are introducing changes from January 15th which mostly affect services to City Hospital, also Citi 8 and services 23/24 to Orton Waterville, Oundle and Thrapston. Details are as follows:
All services to City Hospital (including new route 25 below) will at last be extended to a new bus stop outside the main entrance.
The City Centre to City Hospital section of Citi 7, which runs on Mondays to Fridays (every 20 minutes), will now run direct via Westfield Road and Bretton Gate taking just 10 minutes, instead of via the City Care Centre in Thorpe Road. The latter will be served by a new route 25 which will run from Queensgate to the City Hospital via the City Care Centre (the old route of Citi 7). This will also run on Mondays to Fridays only, but will be every hour off-peak and every 30 minutes in the peaks.
Citi 8 has been allocated an extra vehicle to relieve timekeeping problems. The Queensgate to Parnwell section is rerouted via Broadway and the Regional College on Eastfield Road instead of via the Frank Perkins Parkway, taking 13 minutes instead of 11. This means it will serve the Broadway stop after Queensgate rather than Midgate, and journeys to Parnwell leave Queensgate 2 minutes earlier than previously.
The Queensgate to Cardea part of Citi 8 is given extra running time (19 minutes instead of 15), with the Stanground Corner to Cardea section being increased from 3 minutes to 7, with an 11 minute layover at Cardea instead of only 1 minute.
Route 24 to Oundle now leaves Queensgate 5 minutes earlier off-peak at 20 minutes past the hour and the short-lived extension to start from Peterborough Rail Station has been dropped. A journey at 1735 from Peterborough replaces those at 1700 and 1800. In Oundle, buses no longer extend to St Peters Road or Rockingham Hills but instead reach the Market Place by looping via New Road. The shorter route has enabled the experimental introduction of extra trips between Queensgate and Orton Waterville, which therefore gains a half-hourly service for much of the day. The extra trips are numbered 23 and run via Thorpe Road rather than Oundle Road. Lynch Wood also gets an improved peak hour service on route 23 (including a new 1909 from Lynch Wood), but Thrapston journeys on route 24 are further reduced and no longer run on Saturdays.
One journey on route 36 (Thorney - Peterborough) is extended from and to Holbeach Drove on Mondays to Fridays, leaving there at 0705, and returning from Peterborough at 1745. This is presumably a bus which is outstationed at Fowler's depot there. Journeys terminating in Thorney now loop via Sandpit Road and Park Crescent in order to turn round. A further change is that the 0845 Queensgate to Thorney now runs 10 minutes earlier.
On route 46, the 1645 Huntingdon to Peterborough journey now runs 10 minutes later.

Minor changes updated
Due to being extremely busy at work over the last few months, some changes from the latter part of 2011 were either overlooked or put to one side, as shown below. These have now been updated on relevant pages, except where shown:
From July 3rd Diamond Coaches of Rushden commenced a new Irchester to Peterborough service via Rushden, Raunds and Thrapston. It runs on the first Saturday of each month, and is numbered 203. Full details are available by cliking on route 203 on the Routes page (it's a large pdf file and may take a while to load).
In September there were minor changes to Stagecoach service 24. The 1245 from Thrapston to Oundle became a through journey to Peterborough at 1250, running via Rockingham Hills taking up the existing 1314 departure.
From October 3rd, services operated by Paul James Coaches (part of Veolia) were taken over by Centrebus. As far as Peterborough is concerned, this affected Uppingham to Peterborough service 47 (one journey on Mondays to Fridays only) which now starts and finishes at Oakham, but is otherwise unchanged between Uppingham and Peterborough. The other service taken over is LocalLink 413.
LocalLink services previously operated by Peterborough City Council are now operated by Enterprise Managed Services on behalf of the Council. For the time being they are still shown here as operated by the City Council.
Timings for some LocalLink services have changed and will be rechecked over the next few days.
